The 2026 Alfred Friendly Press Partners Fellowship is now accepting applications. With a legacy spanning over four decades, Alfred Friendly Press Partners has successfully trained more than 400 journalists from 90 different nations. This esteemed fellowship program continues its commitment to empowering journalists from developing countries by opening its doors for the upcoming 2026 cohort.
Program Overview
This fellowship offers an immersive, four-week in-person training aimed specifically at foreign journalists who are currently living in exile within the United States. The curriculum is designed to enhance participants’ skills and resilience across several critical domains, including security, legal issues, journalism techniques, and entrepreneurial ventures. A distinctive component of this program is its emphasis on creating a supportive community among a diverse group of journalists who face comparable challenges. Throughout the fellowship, there is a continuous focus on addressing the psychosocial dimensions of exile, a theme that is integrated into discussions right from the very first day.
