Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong motivation to expand their expertise by exploring governance frameworks, policy-making, economic markets, technological innovations, and fresh ideas. The ultimate goal is to foster the material and social foundations necessary for sustained and inclusive human prosperity worldwide.

Application Process

To begin, applicants must complete the standard application for the MPP program at the Hertie School. It is important to adhere to the admission deadlines: Early Bird by 1 December, Priority Deadline for non-EU/EEA applicants by 15 January, and EU/EEA applicants by 15 February. Early submission is strongly recommended to maximize the chances of admission and scholarship consideration.

Following the receipt of an offer of admission, candidates will be invited to submit a Funding Application within a two-week timeframe. As part of the scholarship application, candidates should prepare a one-page personal statement detailing their passion for climate action and how pursuing their studies at the Hertie School aligns with their goals in this area.

Please note that scholarship applications are only accepted after official admission into the program, and applicants are allowed to apply for only one full scholarship per academic year. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview with a faculty member to further discuss their motivation and suitability.

Recipients of the Climate Action Scholarship are also eligible to apply for the TSH Talent Foundation Changemaker Scholarship, which offers further support for outstanding students committed to creating positive social impact.
