About the Mälardalen University Scholarship Programme

Each academic year, Mälardalen University provides a select number of scholarships dedicated to international applicants who choose one of the University’s Master’s programmes as their primary study option. This prestigious scholarship fully covers 100% of the tuition fees for the duration of the chosen programme, provided that the student adheres to the standard study progression requirements—that is, completing at least 22.5 credits per semester and a minimum of 45 credits per academic year.

It is important to note that this scholarship exclusively covers tuition fees and does not contribute towards living costs or other personal expenses. Additionally, if a student's status changes from fee-paying to non-fee-paying during their studies, the scholarship will be revoked.

First Choice Requirement

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have selected a Mälardalen University Master’s programme as their first priority during the application process. Furthermore, all necessary supporting documents must be submitted before the deadlines set by University Admissions, and the application fee must be paid promptly.

This scholarship targets highly qualified candidates from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, who are obligated to pay tuition fees. However, it is not available for students from the twelve countries with which Sweden maintains long-term development cooperation: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Applicants from these nations should consider applying to the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship instead.
