Chancellor’s International Scholarships (2026)

A limited number of scholarships are available to international Masters applicants with exceptional academic achivement to date. These are competitive and only applicants with excellent academic achievement and potential will be considered. If you have exceptional grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex in 2026.

Chancellor’s International Scholarships Eligibility

  • Who is eligible To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
    • Be classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes
    • Be taking up a place on a full time Masters degree, starting September 2026 (the offer can be conditional)
    • Be self-financing
    • Have exceptional academic grades (see ‘Qualifications advice’ for indication of minimum grades required; this does not include all accepted qualifications and is instead intended as guidance)

  • Who isn’t eligible You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
    • Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
    • Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
    • Are studying an online course
    • Are already holding another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship)
    • Are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:

Terms and conditions

This scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount: no cash equivalent is available. This scholarship is available for the 2026/27 academic year only. If a scholar defers or temporarily withdraws from their course they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship. This scholarship cannot be combined with the Sussex Alumni Scholarship; if applicants are eligible for both, University of Sussex will always award the highest value scholarship.

The strongest applicants from Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Vietnam will be selected to combine this scholarship with the Country Scholarships, up to the maximum value of £10,000. This scholarship may be combined with the Sussex Progressive Futures Scholarship. 

University of Sussex is aware AI has been used by some applicants to produce statements for their scholarship applications. Please be advised these applications are often unsuccessful. Any personal statement submitted needs to be written by you, to demonstrate your suitability for the scholarship.
