Announcement: 2026 Université Paris-Saclay International Scholarship Program for Distinguished International Students
Overview of the International Master’s Scholarship
In alignment with its commitment to global academic integration, Université Paris-Saclay proudly offers an International Master’s Scholarship Program designed to support exceptional international students. This initiative aims to ease their admission and participation in the university’s master’s programs. The scholarships primarily target candidates aspiring to pursue doctoral studies, but applications from all outstanding international students are welcomed.
Who Can Apply? Eligibility Requirements
The scholarship invites applications from international students who fulfill all of the following conditions:
- Admission into a master’s program at Université Paris-Saclay, specifically those offered by the following member institutions:
- AgroParisTech
- CentraleSupélec
- ENS Paris-Saclay
- INSTN-CEA
- IOGS
- Université Évry Paris-Saclay
- Université Paris-Saclay
- UVSQ (Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines)
- First-time enrollment in a French higher education institution—this means candidates must not have previously registered in any French university or higher education establishment, with exceptions for short-term exchange programs, Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degrees not awarding a French diploma, internships, or language courses.
- Applicants must be under 30 years old in the calendar year of application.
- Applicants must not be receiving other financial aid exceeding 600 euros per month. Recipients of other funding above this threshold are not eligible.
It is important to note that this scholarship cannot be combined with other French government scholarships such as the France Excellence Eiffel, France Excellence Europa, or Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
Programs and Study Levels Eligible
All academic disciplines offered through Université Paris-Saclay’s master’s programs are eligible except for vocational training programs delivered via apprenticeships (known as formations en apprentissage).
Both first-year master's students (M1) and second-year master's students (M2) can apply. For M1 recipients, the scholarship is renewable automatically for the second year (M2), provided that they successfully complete all required credits and are admitted to the subsequent year at Université Paris-Saclay.
Scholarship Benefits
- The scholarship provides a financial award of 10,000 euros per academic year.
- This amount is disbursed monthly by Université Paris-Saclay, covering the academic period from September through June.
- The scholarship amount is adjusted downward for any months spent abroad due to mandatory international mobility, participation in delocalized master’s programs, or internships conducted outside affiliated university laboratories.
- In addition to the scholarship, laureates receive an annual fixed grant of up to 900 euros to assist with travel and visa expenses. The exact amount depends on the student’s country of origin.
- Payments for both the scholarship and travel allowances are made only after the student arrives in France and completes enrollment in their admitted program. No advance payments are provided.
- Université Paris-Saclay offers assistance with administrative procedures and housing searches. However, securing accommodation is ultimately the student’s responsibility, and availability cannot be guaranteed by the university.
Application Process
The scholarship application involves a three-step procedure:
- Submit your master’s application: Candidates must first apply for admission to a master’s program at Université Paris-Saclay prior to the scholarship application deadline. Only those who have applied and gained acceptance by this cutoff date will be considered for the scholarship. Late master’s applications will not be accepted for scholarship selection. Remember, vocational apprenticeship programs are excluded.
- Scholarship candidate selection by course coordinators: Once shortlisted by program coordinators, candidates will receive an email containing a link to the scholarship application form. They may be required to provide contact details of two referees (such as professors, course coordinators, or internship supervisors) who will be invited via email to submit confidential recommendations online before the specified deadline. Candidates will be notified of receipt of these references but will not have access to the content of the recommendations themselves.
- Final selection by the scholarship jury: A jury comprising experts from the Graduate Schools of Université Paris-Saclay will evaluate complete applications. The evaluation criteria include the applicant’s academic record, personal project, and motivation to pursue a PhD thesis at Université Paris-Saclay (particularly for M2 candidates). All applicants will be informed about the jury’s decision via email. Jury decisions are final, confidential, and not subject to appeal.
