Deadline for Applications: 20 May 2026
Opportunity Announcement: 2026/27 UAL Foundation and Pre-degree International Scholarships for Pre-degree and Undergraduate Studies
About the UAL Foundation and Pre-degree International Scholarships
The University of the Arts London (UAL) is offering a prestigious multi-year scholarship designed to support international students undertaking Foundation and Pre-degree courses, as well as subsequent undergraduate studies. This scholarship awards a tuition fee discount of £7,000 each academic year, applicable for the entire duration of both pre-degree and undergraduate programs.
There are up to 16 scholarships available under this scheme for international students enrolling in UAL’s Foundation and Pre-degree courses.
Scholarship Eligibility
This financial award is intended to cover the full span of a student’s academic journey through pre-degree and undergraduate studies at UAL. Initially, the scholarship is granted when the student begins their pre-degree course, and it will automatically continue to apply when the student progresses to Bachelor of Arts (BA) level study—provided the student successfully completes each academic year.
It is important to note that if a student’s fee status changes from overseas to home or another category between pre-degree and undergraduate studies, they will no longer qualify for this scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Course Offer: You must have an offer to study a full-time, in-person Foundation or Pre-degree course commencing in the academic year 2026/27.
- Fee Status: Applicants must meet the criteria for the Overseas tuition fee status category.
- Academic Achievement: You should have achieved—or be predicted to achieve—strong academic results in your high school qualifications, at levels equivalent to a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points. This equates to A Levels at BBC grades or an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a score of 32 points. Other internationally recognized secondary school qualifications equivalent to high school completion are also accepted.
To verify your eligibility based on your qualifications, please use the UCAS tariff calculator. When applying, you will need to submit your academic transcripts as evidence of your qualifications. If your final results are not yet available, predicted grades must be provided as part of your application.
Application Requirements
Applicants must include a personal statement with their scholarship application. This statement should answer the following questions, with a maximum of 350 words per response:
- Describe how your accomplishments and experiences, both inside and outside of school, demonstrate your suitability for this scholarship.
- Explain how you plan to use the qualification you will be studying to achieve your future goals.
- Outline the contributions you hope to make to university life during your studies.
- Discuss how being part of the UAL community will assist you in realizing your career ambitions.
How to Apply
Once you have received an offer to study at UAL, the scholarship application forms will be made available under the ‘my finance and funding’ tab within your applicant portal. This portal will present all scholarships for which you may be eligible.
After submitting your application, UAL will notify you of the outcome by email according to the following timetable:
| Course Start Date | Application Deadline | Decision Announcement |
|---|---|---|
| September 2026 | Wednesday, 20 May 2026 | Late June 2026 |
Please be aware that late applications cannot be accepted, and UAL will not extend the deadline for applicants who have not yet received their offers. Additionally, incomplete submissions will be excluded from consideration.
Receiving the Scholarship
If your application is successful, you will receive an award letter via email. To accept the scholarship, you must confirm your acceptance through your UAL Portal. The awarded tuition fee reduction will be applied directly to your student fees account for each year of your course.
Additional Information
The selection of recipients for the UAL Foundation and Pre-degree International Scholarships is conducted by a dedicated UAL panel. The panel’s decision is based solely on the supporting evidence and information provided in your application.
If you are fortunate enough to receive multiple UAL awards or scholarships, you will be required to select only one to accept, as holding more than one scholarship simultaneously is not permitted.
