- Are nationals of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
- Have applied for a full Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at Umeå University
- Completed the programme application before the deadline on 15 January 2026

If you are currently enrolled at Umeå University, please see the section titled “Current student at Umeå University” below for further information.
How to Register Interest for the Scholarship
Once the registration form becomes available, eligible students will be contacted via email with detailed instructions. This notification will be sent to the email address linked to your University Admissions account.
Only those applicants who have a Umeå University programme listed as their first priority on University Admissions by the application deadline, as well as second-year Master’s students currently enrolled in their first Master’s year at Umeå University, qualify to register their interest for the scholarship.
For new applicants, the invitation to express interest is tied directly to your first-priority choice of programme. If you are not admitted to your primary choice but gain admission to another Umeå University programme, you will not be eligible to register interest for a scholarship linked to that alternative programme.
If you meet the eligibility criteria but have not received a scholarship invitation email by the opening date, please first inspect your spam or junk mail folders. Should the email still be missing, contact Umeå University at international@umu.se.
