Scholarships for international students pursuing higher degree by research

The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships and equivalent university scholarships provide financial support to international postgraduate research students.

University of Sydney Tuition Fee ScholarshipInternational students Commencing or enrolled in a higher degree by research Those awarded with a USYDIS will automatically be awarded this scholarship100% tuition fees for up to 14 research periods.

How to apply

To be considered for a RTP scholarship and equivalent University scholarships, you must:

Commencing students

  1. Apply for admission and submit all required documentation for admission to a higher degree by research through Sydney Courses by the deadlines outlined in the ‘Application and award timeline’ table – these differ for domestic students and international students.
  2. Submit the scholarship application form by the deadlines.

Currently enrolled students

  1. Be currently enrolled in a higher degree by research. 
  2. Submit the scholarship application form by the deadlines.
