Selection Procedure
Applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application form. Instead, eligibility for this scholarship is automatically assessed when applying for admission into a Victoria University of Wellington programme. Successful applicants will be informed about their scholarship offer in their official Offer of Place letter.
Scholarship Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship amount is NZ$15,000 and applies for one academic year only, covering the first year of enrolment in the selected Bachelor’s degree programme.
- Funds are credited directly towards tuition fees, reducing the amount payable upfront by the student.
- The scholarship is awarded just once per student. Although applicants may receive multiple Offers of Place (and provisional scholarship eligibility) for different programmes, only a single scholarship award will be granted when the student enrols in their first-year courses.
- If a recipient withdraws from their studies after the scholarship has been officially granted, the university retains the right to request repayment of some or all of the scholarship funds at its discretion.
- Recipients may apply to defer the scholarship to another intake within the same calendar year; however, deferral beyond that year is not permitted.
- This scholarship can be held alongside other scholarships, provided this does not conflict with the terms of any other awards.
- The scholarship is exclusively for international fee-paying students. If a recipient’s fee status changes from international to domestic before the scholarship is applied to their account, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
- If the student’s residency status changes from international to domestic during the scholarship tenure, the university may suspend or cancel the scholarship and demand partial or full repayment.
- Note that this scholarship will not be recorded on the student’s academic transcript.
