Application and Selection Procedure

The selection process for scholarships commencing in September 2026 involves two distinct phases:

  1. Phase 1 – Initial Pre-Screening: The FAO will conduct a preliminary review of all submitted applications. Only complete applications will be forwarded to the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture. Incomplete submissions or applications lacking identification details will be rejected outright. The Ministry will then send the eligible applications to the respective universities specified by the candidates.
  2. Phase 2 – University Admission Process: Candidates selected from the first round may be required to participate in additional evaluation steps, which could include written or oral English language proficiency tests as part of the university’s admission criteria. The universities will perform their own selection assessments and communicate their decisions directly to successful applicants. It is important to emphasize that the universities have full autonomy in the final selection, with no further involvement by FAO. The Ministry of Agriculture will also notify candidates of their selection status.
