Applications are officially open for the 2026 cohort of the Mastercard Foundation Tanzanian EdTech Fellowship. Following the successful implementation of the first two cohorts, Sahara Consult, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, invites growth-stage EdTech enterprises in Tanzania to apply. This fellowship is designed for impact-driven companies that are innovatively improving educational outcomes within the country.

Participants from previous cohorts have benefited immensely from customized support aimed at scaling their enterprises, increasing revenue and profitability, and gaining access to critical funding sources. Additionally, the fellowship has facilitated collaborations with the Mastercard Foundation and other key players within the education and technology ecosystems.

The 2026 edition of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship remains committed to empowering Tanzanian EdTech startups. It aims to help these companies promote inclusive and equitable learning opportunities while generating sustainable impacts, especially for youth, women, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities.

  • Free Access to Carnegie Mellon University Online Courses: Benefit from short courses centered on learning science, offered at no cost.
  • Equity-Free Financial Support: Obtain up to USD 70,000 in funding without surrendering any ownership or equity in your company.
  • Post-Acceleration Support for One Year: Continue receiving mentorship, gain visibility, and remain engaged within the broader EdTech ecosystem after completing the program.

Important Reminders:

  • All submitted documents, including but not limited to the BRELA Certificate, Tax Identification Number (TIN), and Business License, must be authentic and certified copies of the originals.
  • The use of AI-generated or AI-assisted responses in the application is strictly forbidden. Any evidence of AI involvement in completing the application will lead to immediate disqualification.
