Applications Now Open: The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme invites eligible Nigerian students to apply before the deadline on December 12, 2025. This initiative reflects NLNG’s ongoing dedication to advancing education and nurturing the country’s human capital by offering financial support to outstanding university students.

The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS) specifically targets first-year undergraduates beginning their studies in the 2025/2026 academic year at Nigerian universities. Its purpose is to empower academically gifted students to achieve excellence and contribute meaningfully towards Nigeria’s development.

Who Can Apply?

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen residing within the country at the time of application.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time, first-year undergraduate student for the 2025/2026 academic session at any federal or state-owned university in Nigeria.
  • Possess at least five O’Level credits (including Mathematics and English) obtained in a single examination sitting such as WAEC, SSCE, or NECO.
  • Have achieved a minimum score of 200 in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of submitting the application.
  • Not be receiving any other form of scholarship, bursary, or financial grant from any organization.
  • Not be related as a spouse, child, ward, or immediate family member to any NLNG employee.

Application Procedure

Interested students should submit their applications online through the official portal at https://nlngscholarships.smapply.io/prog/ugss/. When completing the application form, candidates must provide all requested information and upload the following documents:

  • A recent passport-sized photograph (without glasses)
  • Copies of WAEC, NECO, or SSCE results
  • JAMB UTME result slip
  • JAMB Admission Letter confirming university admission
  • Local Government Area (LGA) Identification
  • Birth Certificate

Once applications are reviewed, shortlisted candidates will receive an invitation to participate in an online proctored selection test administered via computer. Only those who pass this stage will be requested to submit additional mandatory documentation necessary for further processing.

It is important to emphasize that scholarships will only be granted to applicants who thoroughly meet all eligibility standards and succeed through the entire selection process.
