The application window is now open for the 2026 edition of the One Young World/Virgin Unite NewNow Program. This initiative, backed by Virgin Unite, is designed to empower exceptional young leaders who are ready to challenge the status quo by applying systems-thinking and fostering collective efforts to drive meaningful change.
The NewNow Program aims to identify and support ten outstanding leaders from the Global South who have demonstrated a profound commitment and capability in driving systemic transformation within their communities and beyond.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old.
- Hold citizenship in a country classified as part of the Global South.
- Exhibit proven leadership experience through impactful and tangible initiatives.
- Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of significant local and global challenges, especially those that benefit from systems-thinking methodologies.
- Have a track record of applying systems-thinking principles effectively to create innovative, sustainable, and long-lasting outcomes.
- Provide clear evidence of successfully tackling complex problems by leveraging systems-based approaches.
- Show willingness to engage collaboratively with the NewNow cohort and actively promote successful examples of systemic change through personal networks and media platforms.
Program Benefits
Selected participants will receive a scholarship to attend the prestigious One Young World Summit scheduled for 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa. In addition, they will gain lifelong membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community, joining a global network of remarkable young change-makers.
