Every year, The Rotary Foundation grants up to 50 fully funded fellowships for master’s degree programs, along with up to 120 fellowships for professional development certificate courses at leading academic institutions. The Rotary Peace Centers program equips participants through rigorous academic coursework, hands-on practice, and extensive international networking opportunities. This comprehensive approach helps to nurture skilled peace and development practitioners who can act as influential agents of positive change in global peace efforts.
What the Fellowship Covers
The fellowship package is comprehensive and includes coverage for tuition and academic fees, accommodation and meals, round-trip travel expenses, as well as costs related to internships and required field studies.
Program Structure
Master’s Degree Programs
Successful applicants admitted to the master’s track engage in in-depth study of peace and development challenges, benefiting from research-driven instruction alongside a culturally and professionally diverse group of peers. These graduate programs typically last between 15 and 24 months and incorporate a self-designed field study lasting two to three months, allowing fellows to apply their academic learning in real-world settings.
Professional Development Certificate Program
This one-year blended learning curriculum is designed for seasoned peace and development professionals seeking to enhance their practical skills. The program emphasizes actionable strategies and approaches to foster peace within participants’ communities and regions. Alongside completing field studies, fellows develop and implement social change initiatives tailored to their local contexts. This postgraduate certificate is particularly suited for those currently active in professional roles.
