Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026/2027 cycle of the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity Fellowship Program. This distinguished program is crafted to unite professionals from an extensive array of sectors that impact health and well-being. These fields include, but are not limited to, art, law, business, academia, medicine, government, journalism, social enterprise, research, media, housing, and health care services.

The fellowship seeks candidates who have demonstrated a strong dedication to advancing health equity and who show potential for leadership roles. The program aims to cultivate a global network of multidisciplinary leaders by equipping them with essential technical expertise, practical skills, and collaborative relationships needed to promote health equity within their organizations and broader communities.

  • Early to mid-career professionals
  • Currently involved in health-related work or sectors influencing health outcomes
  • Those already in leadership positions or roles with significant leadership potential
  • Applicants who value diverse viewpoints and enjoy collaborative team environments

Program Commitments

Selected fellows will be expected to:

  • Participate in in-person gatherings throughout the fellowship year, requiring a cumulative commitment of four weeks
  • Engage in a comprehensive online curriculum that features biweekly virtual classes, personalized coaching, peer mentoring, and project-based team learning, with an estimated time investment of 12-16 hours per month
  • Possess proficiency in the English language to fully benefit from the program

It is important to note that all educational activities and travel-related expenses associated with the fellowship will be fully funded by the program.

How Fellows Are Selected

Applicants progress in the selection process based on the strength of their statement of interest, which should highlight their past achievements and unwavering commitment to health equity. Additionally, the quality of their proposed project, the recommendation letters submitted on their behalf, and the completion of the employer support form are critical components of the evaluation.

Application Requirements

  • Personal and Demographic Information: Applicants must provide foundational background details to help the selection committee understand their professional setting and context.
  • Short Answer Questions: Candidates will answer a series of questions aimed at uncovering their motivations for leadership, the communities they serve, the impact of their current work, and a specific project they intend to develop during the fellowship year. To prepare offline, applicants may download this worksheet.
  • Video Responses: After submitting their written answers, applicants will receive an email invitation to record short video responses to several questions. The application will be considered incomplete until these videos are submitted. The deadline for all video responses is March 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT (GMT -4).
  • Employer Support Form: Prior to submitting the full application, candidates must upload a completed Employer Support Form. This document should be filled out by a direct supervisor, confirming the employer’s endorsement of the applicant’s participation in the fellowship.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Applicants need to provide two letters of recommendation from professional references familiar with their interest in the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity program. At least one letter must come from a direct supervisor, who may also complete the Employer Support Form.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume: A detailed CV or resume must be included to outline educational background, work experience, and relevant accomplishments.
