The call for applications is now open for the 2026 CivicHive Climate Fellowship, an immersive and rigorous four-month programme tailored specifically for emerging civic tech innovators, early-stage organisation leaders, and passionate climate advocates within Nigeria. This initiative is carefully crafted to enhance participants’ capabilities by equipping them with essential knowledge, practical tools, and strategic expertise necessary to lead impactful campaigns advocating for a fair energy transition and climate justice.
Who Should Apply?
- Applicants are ideally under the age of 35.
- They must have a proven history of involvement or accomplishments in areas such as climate change, energy transition, climate justice, environmental protection, or related sectors.
- A strong commitment to engaging in weekly sessions and completing assigned tasks is essential.
- Candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion for advancing climate accountability, resilience, and justice within the Nigerian context.
What the Fellowship Offers
The 2026 CivicHive Climate Fellowship includes:
- Seed funding to support innovative and promising climate-related solutions.
- Hands-on, practical training sessions designed to build key skills.
- Access to expert mentorship from leaders and specialists in the civic tech and climate fields.
- Weekly assignments that encourage continuous learning and progress.
- A culminating capstone project to showcase fellows’ innovative ideas and solutions.
The fellowship officially runs from March 17 to June 18, 2026. Following this period, structured lab sessions will continue into early July, concluding with a highly anticipated Demo Day on July 22, 2026. Participants are expected to dedicate approximately four hours weekly to fellowship activities, inclusive of sessions, assignments, and the development of their capstone projects.
