There are currently 3,600 applicants competing for the 2026 MEST Africa-Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Program, with the application window closing on January 30th, 2026. This Fellowship is an entrepreneurship acceleration initiative specifically crafted to empower innovative African EdTech startups. It offers carefully selected ventures essential business mentorship, financial backing, and deep insights into learning science, all aimed at helping these companies scale their operations sustainably and maximize their educational impact.

Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating within Ghana, provided they meet the following conditions:
- The business must be formally registered in Ghana and have been active for a minimum of three years.
- Applicants should offer a technology-driven or technology-enabled solution aimed at improving educational outcomes across various levels, including K-12 schooling, higher education, and vocational skills training, by addressing significant challenges within these sectors.
- The enterprise should be in its growth phase, having validated product-market fit and currently serving active users or customers.
- Teams with diverse and seasoned members are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Innovative and inclusive solutions that focus on underserved or marginalized communities in education are highly favored.
