The 2025 edition of the National Health Fellows Programme is now accepting applications from dynamic young Nigerian professionals. This initiative is a government-backed programme, coordinated by the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative SWAp Coordination Office, which operates under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Who Can Apply?

  • Applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old.
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in health-related fields, Information Technology, or social sciences is required.
  • Applicants should have a proven interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs, partner organizations, or community initiatives demonstrating leadership and proactive involvement.
  • Full-time availability throughout the duration of the fellowship is mandatory.
  • Applicants must be natives of the state for which they are applying.
  • Ownership of a smartphone with data capability (for apps such as WhatsApp and Zoom) is necessary.
  • A letter of recommendation from a University Dean, NYSC place of primary assignment, or a reputable organization attesting to the candidate’s character and leadership qualities is required.
  • Demonstrable analytical thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership potential are essential.

Ideal candidates should exhibit strong analytical abilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, leadership promise, as well as interest or experience in primary healthcare, community development projects, or related sectors.

Financial Support

Selected fellows will be awarded a stipend designed to assist with their living expenses and support their full engagement in the fellowship activities.
