Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026/2027 cycle of the United Nations Academic Impact/MCN Millennium Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship, jointly offered by the United Nations Academic Impact and MCN, is a semester-long leadership development initiative designed to be implemented on university campuses worldwide, empowering students to elevate their social impact projects to new heights.
The program is tailored specifically for undergraduate students who are passionate about driving social change and working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a Millennium Fellow, participants will have the opportunity to hone their leadership abilities, develop meaningful social impact initiatives, and engage with a vibrant international network of fellow changemakers committed to positive global transformation.
Eligibility Criteria
Individual Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student throughout the program period (August to November 2026).
- Demonstrate a strong interest in social impact and community engagement.

Campus Requirements
- Each participating campus cohort should include a minimum of 8 Millennium Fellows.
- Highly competitive institutions typically have between 15 and 20 or more fellows.
Application Procedure
Round 1
The first stage of the application process is designed to learn about your background, motivations, and reasons for wanting to join the fellowship. Applications for this round are reviewed on a rolling basis. To be prioritized, applicants should submit their Round 1 application by the deadline of February 28, 2026.
Round 2
Applicants who successfully pass Round 1 will receive an invitation via email to proceed to Round 2. This phase requires more detailed information, including:
- Details about a social impact project—this could be either a new idea or an existing initiative you are currently involved in.
- Your personal emotional commitment and passion towards the cause you aim to address.
- An optional application to serve as a Campus Director, taking on a leadership role within your campus cohort.
- One recommendation letter from an academic or professional referee.
The deadline to submit the Round 2 application is also February 28, 2026.
