The application process for the 2025 WAAW Foundation Scholarship is currently underway. This scholarship is designed to empower African female students who are pursuing higher education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. By securing this scholarship, recipients can dedicate themselves fully to their academic pursuits while also engaging in meaningful volunteer work. Scholarship awardees are encouraged to contribute to their communities and actively promote female participation in STEM disciplines through involvement in the STEM Outreach Chapter at their respective universities.
Who is Eligible?
- Female students of African descent who reside and study within Africa.
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree program.
- Currently studying a STEM-related course at a recognized university or college located in Africa.
- Applicants should be in their first or second year of study, or in the third year if enrolled in a five-year degree program.
- Demonstrated financial need is required.
- Applicants should have a solid academic record reflecting excellence.
- Proven experience in leadership roles, volunteering, or community service activities is important.
- Applicants must be under the age of 32.
Scholarship Benefits
The WAAW Foundation Scholarship provides a one-time financial award of $500. This funding aims to support female African students in STEM studies, enabling them to focus more on their academic and community engagement goals.
