What is UK Tier 2 Sponsor List?

The UK Tier 2 Sponsor List, officially known as the "Register of Licensed Sponsors," is a list of organizations and employers in the United Kingdom who have been granted a license by the UK Home Office to sponsor and employ non-EEA (European Economic Area) and non-Swiss workers under the Tier two Visa and Tier 5 visa categories. These visas are part of the UK's Points-Based System for immigration.

Employers or organizations on the Tier 2 Sponsor List are authorized to hire skilled workers, including those from outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. The list includes various types of sponsors, such as employers, educational institutions, and other organizations.

For foreign workers wishing to work in the UK, it's essential to find a job with an employer on the Tier 2 Sponsor List. To be eligible for a Tier visa 2 (General), for example, a job offer from a licensed sponsor is typically required. The employer must also issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), which the worker will need to include in their visa application.
